SYNOPSIS

The story of this work derived from the desire of associating various spaces and immersing oneself in the surrounding context through the images of the film. Shot in Sardegna in 2007, the artist has created a character in order to accompany the viewer in a journey where city and memory, island and border blur one into the other and give birth to new possible spaces.
The image of the sea recalls a singular mode of returning back to the limits of the first space lived, underlining the frenetic condition of aspiring at what is outside.
Mainly shot in one frame, the film realizes the idea of a character who moves in between the fractures of the landscape, in those empty spaces or missed frames created by the aesthetics of the super8 shooting, whereas fragmentation of movement creates a break in the narration as well as in the lived experience.

ARTIST’S BIOGRAPHY

Ana Maria Bresciani was born in Bogotá Colombia in 1978. She lives and works in Italy since 2001.
In 2005 she earned her MFA in visual arts production and projection at Università d'Architettura IUAV in Venice. She earned her B.F.A. in 2001 at the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá. In 2007 she participated in the group exhibition VI Donne, curated by Lia Turtas in Sassari, Sardegna and in the group exhibition at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Guarene d’Alba entitled Laws of Relativity, la legge è relativa per tutti, curated by Anna Colin and Elena Sorokina.
