Marco Raparelli (IT) | Abandoned Dog
[ 2008, 4’20'' ]

SYNOPSIS
Narration is the principal characteristic of Marco Raparelli's animations. Nevertheless it is not the point of departure, but rather the consequence of a deviation of themes which are evoked by the sensations transmitted by other images or drawings. The animations make concrete what the image hides within itself, it is a free and extemporaneous deviation of an image that carries others with itself and connects one to the other to create infinite micro-worlds. The newest animation tells the history of an abandoned dog which, while walking toward the sea, meets different adventure's friends and enemies and faces manifold abstract situations. The work interrupts brusquely and senseless the dog's adventure. The end is a metaphor of life where the dog is the protagonist. He is an outcast that must handle to survive a day that will come. The music of Cosme McMoon accompanies the animation. He played together with American Soprano Florence Foster Jenkins, rich heiress who, even not having great melodious qualities, could perform as she was very rich; both were two anthropological phenomena and their grotesque songs serve as sonorous column to the approximation of the sketches.
